New York Avenue is a new band consisting of electric and acoustic guitarist Vinny Malanga and Barry Calvagna on acoustic guitar and vocals. Signed with Indie label Huntington Records, New York Avenue have released their debut album which is titled “Third Time’s a Charm” and is available for download at iTunes, ZooMoozik, and CDBaby. The rock and hard rock band hail from the New York City area, hence the name and the original tracks on the album are testament to the band’s rock, hard rock, and contemporary country music backgrounds.

Guitarist and vocalist Barry Calvagna has played in several bands before; his first memorable one being a high school band called Ravge. After one guitarist dropped out, he was replaced by Steve Vai who fondly recalls his time with the band as being a time with family and friends; a time he looks back at with a smile. Ravge used to play covers of bands like Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and David Bowie although they also introduced a few original tracks of their own too.

New York Avenue play a similar style of music ranging from pop rock to considerably harder rock and including some contemporary country music thrown in. Their debut album, which is titled “Third Time’s a Charm” is available for download and preview at sites like iTunes, ZooMoozik, and CDBaby. With Indie label Huntington Records they will be recording and releasing more tracks in the future featuring Barry Calvagna and Vinny Malanga.
